ODAS is a professional advocacy service, which will be central to advocating for people with disabilities
Offaly Citizen's Information Service Ltd, as part of a wider steering group is operating an Offaly Disability Advocacy Service, the Bridge Centre, Tullamore, Co Offaly. The aim of the project is to develop a professional advocacy service, which will be central to advocating for people with disabilities particularly people who may feel at a disadvantage when claiming their entitlements.
Advocacy is the means of empowering people with disabilities by supporting them to assert their views and rights to entitlements, ensuring their independence and, where necessary, representing and negotiating on their behalf.
The main objectives of the Service will be to:
Provide an independent advocacy service
Support and empower individuals.
Devise & implement a strategy for advocacy in Co. Offaly.
Positively promoting the development of Advocacy services.
